About me

Hi! I'm a student currently studying at Université Paris-Saclay, finishing my bachelor in computer science.
I was born and raised in Bucharest and I moved to France at 18 for my undergraduate studies. I am pursuing my third year of bachelor's, Licence Double-Diplôme Informatique, Mathématiques within the Magistère Informatique program.
I am particularly interested in theoretical computer science, especially algorithmics and graph theory. I have pursued these interests through two internships at LISN, within the GALAC team: a two-month internship focused on a codind project involving graph coloring, and a nine-month internship on graph reconstruction.
My native language is romanian but I also have a C2 level in english and a C1 level in french.

Research internships

  1. December 2025 - August 2026

    Study of graph reconstruction

LISN, Université Paris-Saclay, supervised by Hoang La and Johanne Cohen

During this nine-month research internship I worked on graph reconstruction problems. In doing so, I had the chance to discover this subject and at the same time learn about Ramsey theory, graph algorithms, and randomized algorithms. Moreover, it was a great opportunity to see what research looks like: how an open problem is approached, how a literature review is carried out, and how an article is written. During this internship I contributed to the main result, an algorithm for reconstructing graphs, and helped write the article in LaTeX.

  2. May - June 2025

Coding project of a graph coloring game

LISN, Université Paris-Saclay, supervised by Hoang La and Clément Chenevière

During this internship I developed a web game in which the user is given a graph to color, with the aim of introducing them to some graph theory along the way. The project allowed me to strengthen my Python skills. I also dicovered how to use SageMath, and about its contribution process. The game's interface was built in JavaScript, HTML and CSS using a web framework, and the project as a whole was an opportinity to learn proper Git practices.

Workshops

  1. July 2026

Workshop on a word reconstruction problem

    LISN, Université Paris-Saclay

The three-day workshop focused on a word reconstruction problem. We studied which partitions of a word's k-subsequences allow the original word to be uniquely reconstructed. During this experience, I learned about different proof methods, how to approach an open problem, and what collaborative work in computer science research looks like. I had the chance to exchange ideas and work with people with different perspectives and expertise in graph theory.

Tutoring

  1. 2022 - 2024

    Tutoring younger students in Mathematics

During my final two years of high school, I tutored first-year students in mathematics, mainly algebra and trigonometry. Teaching the material meant revising it thoroughly and deepening my own understanding. Moreover, it improved my ability to explain and formalise mathematical concepts.

Papers

  1. 2026

Education

  1. 2024–2027

    Bachelor's student in Computer Sciences

    Université Paris-Saclay, France.

During the first year of my Bachelor's degree, I followed the multidisciplinary program L1 Portail Mathématiques, Informatique, providing a strong foundation in both Mathematics and Computer Science.
In my second year, I chose the L2 Informatique and for my third year, I was accepted in the LDD3 Informatique, Mathématiques, Parcours Magistère Informatique., allowing me to pursue a more advanced and research-oriented curriculum alongside my Bachelor's degree.

  2. 2020-2024

Student in the Mathematics and Computer Science program

Tudor Vianu National High School of Computer Science, Bucharest, Romania.
